Reef Manta Ray in Bali
A very large, graceful ray, the reef manta ray (Manta alfredi) is a distinctive fish with triangular pectoral ‘wings’ and paddle-like lobes which extend in front of the mouth. Despite its large size, the reef manta ray feeds on some of the tiniest organisms in the ocean. Manta rays have the largest brains of all fish, and much remains to be discovered about their intelligence and social interactions.
